Vision:
The Mechanical Engineering Department strives to be recognized as an excellent education and research centre for socio-economic upliftment of society to develop innovative engineers who are successful in advanced fields of engineering.
Mission:
The Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department, within a regional and global context, will prepare its students for a productive career in a competitive, dynamic, and technologically-based society; will advance the knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and applications; and will serve the public.
About Department:
|
Mechanical Engineers touch almost every aspect of technology. They create machines, products and technological systems that benefit society.
Mechanical engineering projects can range from designing heart valves and artificial limbs, clockwork radios and dentists’ drills, building racing cars, jet engines, space modules, solar heaters and wind mills. Mechanical Engineering is a large and diversified field.
Our department has various laboratories that focus on enhancing the practical knowledge of the Students and make them to comprehend the technical concepts in a practical manner.
Students are exposed to:
· CAD/CAM Lab
· Metrology and Machine Tools Lab
· Thermal Engineering Lab
· Heat Transfer Lab
· Instrumentation and Control Systems Lab
· Mechanics of Solids Lab
· Metallurgy Lab
· Production Technology Lab
. Engineering Workshop
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
-
To produce engineering graduates with a strong foundation in basic sciences, mathematics and strong basic knowledge in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
-
To produce engineering graduates for successful and productive engineering careers, with emphasis on technical competency so that they are readily accepted by the industry with minimal orientation.
-
The engineering graduates should be capable of identifying, formulating, analyzing, and creating engineering solutions using appropriate modern engineering techniques, designing skills and tools to develop novel products, solutions and simulation for the real life problems in Mechanical Engineering.
-
To imbibe professional and social ethics and to develop the confidence for independent working and/ or team sprit to work cohesively with group.
-
To develop their ability to pursue higher studies globally.
